Bluegrass Gives Bonus Dollars Rules

Bluegrass Gives (the Event) takes place December 1, 2026, from 6am-11:59pm on BGgives.org. Blue Grass Community Foundation (BGCF) administers the Event. Bonus Dollars include all matches and prizes BGCF awards during the Event.

Bonus Dollars are grants to participating nonprofits. They can’t be paid to individuals or transferred to another organization. All prizes are subject to verification following the event.

By participating in the Event, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of BGCF. BGCF will disqualify any participant who violates any rule, gains an unfair advantage or obtains winner status through fraudulent means. BGCF isn’t responsible for platform outages, payment processor errors or internet failures. If human error, technical failure, intentional interference or any other event beyond BGCF’s control affects the conduct or outcome of the Event, BGCF reserves the right to end the Event or make other decisions about the outcome as it deems appropriate. All BGCF decisions are final. BGCF may amend or waive any of these rules at its sole discretion.

Bonus Dollars come from community partner sponsors and depend on actual sponsor funds received. BGCF may adjust Bonus Dollars based on total sponsor support.

Gifts made online on BGgives.org via credit card, ACH and BGCF donor advised fund count toward Bonus Dollars. Gifts made through fundraiser pages tied to a nonprofit’s BGgives.org profile count toward that nonprofit’s Bonus Dollars.

Unless BGgives.org lists a different window for a specific match or prize, only gifts made on December 1 from 6am-11:59pm ET qualify for Bonus Dollars. The BGgives.org transaction time stamp determines when a gift was made.

Refunded, declined or disputed gifts don’t count. BGCF may reduce or recover Bonus Dollars tied to those gifts.

Offline gifts don't count toward Bonus Dollars.

An offline matching grant uploaded by an organization does not count towards Bonus Dollars. However, if a donor gives a matching grant online through the organization’s Bluegrass Gives profile page, it will counts toward Bonus Dollars.

Gifts from a nonprofit’s own organizational accounts don’t count toward Bonus Dollars. Gifts from a nonprofit’s staff and board members count.

BGCF audits all gifts and finalizes Bonus Dollars by December 15, 2026.

Leaderboards, match meters and progress totals are estimates. Final amounts are confirmed after the audit.

BGCF may withhold or revoke Bonus Dollars if it can’t validate a gift or if a gift doesn’t qualify as a Unique Donation. Gifts tied to falsified donor email addresses or matches don’t qualify.

Bonus Dollars don't count toward dollar-based prizes.

A “Unique Donation” is defined as one gift of $10 or more to one organization. BGCF counts one Unique Donation per donor email address per organization per match or prize window. BGCF audits all gifts. Gifts made to manipulate results don’t count toward Bonus Dollars.

In the event of ties, prizes will be split evenly.

To receive Bonus Dollars, a nonprofit must be in good standing with the IRS and meet all Bluegrass Gives requirements when BGCF pays funds. BGCF pays Bonus Dollars by check in January 2027.

Eligibility criteria for match and prize pools, including geographic location, mission category and budget size, rely on information participating nonprofits provide during registration. BGCF may verify this information and disqualify any organization that misrepresents itself.

Bonus Dollars details may change, and all Bonus Dollars are subject to verification.
