At M’Power Rhythm, young people find their rhythm—and their voice.

Through the powerful tradition of West African drumming, we provide free, year-round arts programming for youth in grades 5–12, creating a place to learn, connect, perform, lead, and belong.

What begins with learning to play the djembe becomes much more. Our drummers build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and leadership while exploring the rich cultural traditions behind the music. As they grow, they mentor newer students, help shape the music, take on leadership roles, and share their talents throughout the community.

M’Power Rhythm youth perform at festivals and community events, learn from guest artists, bring the story of how African rhythms shaped modern American music to life in local schools, and are now creating rhythms of their own.

Because all youth programming is free, community support makes it possible.
