$15,000 Goal
Holly Rood is the home of James Clark. He served in all three branches of the government. As Judge, State Representative, and Governor. He also began the Ky public school system. Holly Rood was also the home of the Wheelers, a well-connected family during the Civil War- the epitome of "A House Divided", and of Judge William Morgan Beckner who supported women's suffrage and by contributing to the State Constitution insured equal education for all Ky children. This house is a symbol of Clark County, preserving it is the goal of the Friends of Holly Rood and the Clark County / Winchester Heritage Commission.
