About Bluegrass Scholars
College Confidence Starts Here.
For many students, getting into college isn't simply about having the ability to succeed. It's about having access to the information, guidance, exposure, and support needed to navigate a process that can feel overwhelming.
Bluegrass Scholars exists to help close that gap.
Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Bluegrass Scholars empowers first-generation and underserved students as well as students and families who may have prior college experience but are navigating a process that has changed significantly over time. Through structured college advising, scholarship strategy, family-centered education, and college exposure, we help students move from “I want to go to college” to having a clear plan for how to get there.
Our flagship program, Admit Bound Academy, provides high school juniors and seniors with ongoing support throughout the college admissions and financial aid process. Scholars participate in individual advising, college application and scholarship labs, Parent Power Sessions, college exposure opportunities, and milestone-based accountability designed to keep them moving forward.
And our work doesn't stop with the student.
Some of our families are navigating the college process for the very first time. Others have college experience, but today's admissions, financial aid, and scholarship landscape looks very different from the one they remember. In either case, families shouldn't have to figure it out alone.
That's why family education and engagement are central to the Bluegrass Scholars model. We equip parents and family champions with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently support their scholar from application through enrollment.
Your Support Creates College Confidence
As a growing nonprofit organization, every investment in Bluegrass Scholars helps us provide the resources and experiences our scholars and families need, from college and scholarship advising to workshops, educational materials, college exposure, and family programming.
During our first Bluegrass Gives, our goal is to raise $7,500 to expand the resources and experiences available to Bluegrass Scholars students and families. Funds raised will help support college and scholarship advising, Scholar Labs, family programming, educational materials, college exposure opportunities and the operational resources needed to deliver high-quality college-access programming throughout the Bluegrass region.
When you give to Bluegrass Scholars, you're not simply helping a student apply to college. You're helping a student and their family navigate the journey with confidence.
