Habitat for Humanity of Madison & Clark Counties

Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties partners with homeowners to build or improve a place they call home. Habitat homeowners work alongside community volunteers to build a safe, decent, affordable home that is energy efficient. Habitat also performs exterior home repairs to help low income neighbors maintain housing stability. Many homeowners don't have the necessary resources to perform critical repairs. These repairs restore a good, overall quality of life.

Habitat is improving the affordable housing landscape in our community. Over 8000 low income families in Madison and Clark Counties need access to decent, affordable housing. Habitat helps families achieve the American dream of owning their own home and they have a vested interest in successful home ownership with partner families, who pay an affordable, 0% interest mortgage. Mortgages are affordable because the payment isn't more than 30% of monthly income. Successful ownership is built on 50 hours of homeowner readiness courses and financial literacy classes. Another 300 sweat equity hours are spent building their home alongside volunteers. To help even more homeowners, Habitat has expanded our programming by making exterior home repairs for low income homeowners. These critical repairs maintain a decent standard of living, and for fixed income seniors, they allow them to age in place.
Volunteers of all skill levels, business sponsors, office volunteers, real estate, and household goods and building materials to the Richmond ReStore.
