Green Forests Work is dedicated to revitalizing the Appalachian landscape. Our mission extends beyond simply planting trees and restoring native forests; we aim to heal the earth and rejuvenate communities affected by mining. We envision a vibrant and lush environment where healthy forests can grow and thrive, providing beauty and sustainability for future generations. 

Imagine transforming barren, non-native grasslands and shrublands into flourishing forests that offer economic opportunities while restoring the natural balance of our ecosystem. We are working alongside our partners and donors like you to achieve this! With every tree we plant, we create jobs for local equipment operators, nursery workers, and tree planters, all while nurturing the environment and bringing back vital ecosystem services.

From 2009 to 2025, we have planted almost 8 million trees across nearly 15,000 acres and don't plan on stopping.
