Stride Program

Quality of life - is there any better gift to give?  While there are so many things we accomplish through our programs, the one we are most proud of is the impact we have on the quality of life for participants and their families.  Whether it's enabling an adult live more independently or helping a child to better process their surroundings so that they can go to the bowling alley, grocery store, or a friend's house we are making a difference every day in the lives of some amazing individuals.

Your support of our locally funded program ensures that we are able to offer the best programs to every person & family that needs them, regardless of their income.  State cuts, poverty, or barriers to education should not stand in the way of every child & adult being able to live life to its fullest. 

A recent success story of our program came about this winter.  One of our younger participants was having a birthday party.  As she had done before, his mom sent out the birthday invitations to classmates, but really only expected family to show.  Because of her son's brief time in our program, he had made real connections and those newfound friends all came to his birthday party.  Both he and his mom were overwhelmed at the outpouring of love.  You can't measure this type of success on a standardized form or on some therapy sheet.  But I can tell you without a doubt, his quality of life, self-esteem, and connection to his friends is incredible.  When we stop seeing these amazing individuals as just diagnoses codes or educational labels and start working to fully enrich their lives, we give them the best chance for a bright future.
