Phoenix Rising Lexington

Phoenix Rising of Lexington is a nonprofit organization based in Fayette Co. Kentucky that promotes the History of African Americans in Horse Racing and the Equine Industry. Our foundation is based in principles of education, community engagement, and youth outreach. We are made up of volunteers who donate their time, energy, resources, and life experiences to help us operate to achieve our goals of community progress and prosperity based on our principles.

We provide; history and equine education, educational outlets, activities that engage the youth, surveys that foster inclusion and participation growth, access to unknown public spaces and facilities, introduction to different vocations and vocational pathways related to the horse industry, foster pride and honor in community by promoting the achievements of Black Horsemen and Horsewomen who established Lexington, KY as the Horse Capitol of the World. We also incorporate animal safety and agricultural sustainability in relation to horses and their care. We expose underprivileged people young and old to a way of life they may not have ever known was made possible for all.
