Support LGBTQIA+ Kentuckians as We Fight for Our Lives!

This has been a tough year for people in the LGBTQIA+ community. As campaigns against LGBTQIA+ rights have rolled out across the nation, our community in Kentucky has faced hateful graffiti at our gathering spaces, increased vitriol from others on social media and in person, and a direct attack on our rights in the form of a proposed anti-drag bill and a new law that limits LGBTQIA+ youth from having access to affirming healthcare and to support and safety in their schools.

In response to these troubling events, the call for support from the Lexington Pride Center has skyrocketed. Both our GSA youth group and our weekly 18+ support group have tripled in average weekly attendance since the beginning of the year. In addition, the volume of calls we've received looking for resources and support has increased, and we've been engaged in helping our youth to take action and make their voices heard, which can be a critical antidote to anxiety and fear. Our staff and board members have been busy speaking out in the community and working with others to find new solutions in the face of new threats to our rights and lives. At the same time, we continue to operate our community center where we provide ongoing life-changing and life-saving services.

We believe that ALL LGBTQIA+ people should be safe to be who they are and love who they love. At the Lexington Pride Center, we work to make this a reality by providing connection, community, and courage to those who need it most. The PCSO envisions a community that accepts and celebrates each individual. We seek to educate, enhance and empower the community about GLBTQQIA+ issues and strive to improve the quality of GLBTQQIA+ individuals' lives in Central and Eastern Kentucky. We host the only Pride Center in the Bluegrass.
