Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame, Inc.

The Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame, Inc. (LAASHOF, Inc., pronounced "lay-shoff") is comprised of a group of like-minded individuals who believe our local African-American sports heroes deserve to be commemorated in a special way. We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation striving to uplift, unite, and reinvigorate our community by shining the spotlight on our sports stars from days gone by.

Here is our four-fold mission:

1. plan and host an annual sports hall of fame induction ceremony and gala;

2. award supplemental college scholarships to local graduating high school student-athletes;

3. host an annual 3K run/walk event to encourage and foster physical and mental health and wellbeing, particularly in the African-American community; and

4. secure a site for a permanent Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame Museum.
