Central Kentucky Audubon Society

 The mission of the Central Kentucky Audubon Society:

To build an organization to support environmental education, conservation, and recreational programs for the mutual benefit of the National Audubon Society, the members of the Central Kentucky Audubon Society, and the Community.  

We host bird walks for birders of all experience levels throughout central Kentucky and have field trips outside of central Kentucky to look for shorebirds, Sandhill Cranes, breeding warblers and other interesting birds.  We also help kids build bird houses at local events, and sponsor a live raptor display at the Fayette County Public Schools Science Fair.   For a number of years we have been working to protect breeding habitat for Henslow's Sparrows at Talon winery.  We have also become involved in wildlife tracking through the MOTUS network.   If you would like to learn more about birds and birding in Central Kentucky, please visit our events page.
